Kimberly Gillette Psychotherapy

Welcome to a new kind of therapy practice - where compassionate support meets intersectional understanding.

With unwavering dedication, Kimberly Gillette specializes in providing a safe and affirming space for queer and transgender individuals, neurodivergent clients, and those grappling with the profound impact of wide-scale social issues. With expertise in navigating the unique challenges faced by these communities, Kimberly is committed to fostering healing and growth and advocacy. Additionally, for those caught in the web of relentless overthinking, Kimberly offers thoughtful guidance to break free from the cycle and embrace a more balanced and empowered life.

  • Have you felt all your life that you are too much? That you take up too much space? Have you been indirectly or explicitly given that message by family, peers, coworkers or your boss?

  • Do you feel like you need to shrink yourself, mask your unique traits, or tone it down?

  • Do you struggle to find the strengths and glimmers in your daily routine?

One of her overall goals with therapy is to help clients make the shift from "practicing for tragedy" to being rooted in the present moment and able to trust in themselves. Welcome to a space where your journey is honored, and healing is a collaborative process.

Areas of Practice

Relentless Overthinking

Many of Kimberly’s clients are creatives or young professionals with busy brains, struggling with worst-case scenario thinking, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Kimberly is trained in Inference-based CBT, a gentle alternative to Exposure & Response Prevention approaches.

Gender & Sexual Orientation

Kimberly works with queer and transgender teens and adults who are exploring their gender or sexuality and the ways that they are impacted living in a cisnormative world. She is also available to assist caregivers as they support their teen during this process.

Neurodivergence

In addition, Kimberly works with neurodivergent clients who are experiencing invalidation or trauma while navigating ableist systems. This includes people who are questioning whether or not they may have ADHD or be autistic, and providing assistance in this exploration process using diagnostic assessments and tools.

Quality of Life Issues

Kimberly also works with clients exploring quality of life issues - that includes people who are struggling with climate change, political instability, or those with an interest in social justice and activism.

“To be nobody but yourself in a world that’s doing it’s best to make you somebody else, is to fight the hardest battle you are ever doing to fight. Don’t stop fighting.”
